Pointers
Preparing a floor for flowing screed is simple. Just remember to be neat. This will pay dividends in the long run and will mean no making good will be required.
Dos and Don'ts for flowing screed.
Always install a membrane on top of insulation. Foil insulations are degraded by all screeds if they come into direct contact.
Always use an expansion strip to allow the screed to expand and contract.
Always ensure that the joints in the membrane and where the expansion strip meets the membrane are taped. Do not use foil tape.
Ensure the room to be screeded is free from contamination as any bits of insulation, mud general detritus may float to the surface.
Ensure the area to be screeded is protect from frost, direct sunlight and Strong drafts.
